Most resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) consist of a fine wire (typically platinum) wrapped around a ceramic core, exhibiting a linear increase in resistance as temperature rises. With a measuring range of -200 to 300 degrees C , RTDs generally have higher accuracy and repeatability than thermocouples, but their response times are slower.

Thermowells allow A1thermocouple , spring-loaded RTD probe and thermocouple probes to be inserted and removed without interrupting the process and eliminate the need for a separate probe mounting fitting or adapter. Thermowells (welded) are made from 316 stainless steel. Required others type of thermowells ,specification and barstock can be custom made upon request .

Thermocouple and RTD extension wire is critical to maintain signal integrity when extending thermocouple signals. Extension wire with standard ASTM/ANSI, IEC and JIS color coding is available with various insulation types and in unshielded or overall shielded styles.
